Luxury Rehab Facilities:

12-Step & Non-12 Step Program

The 12-Step Program

Luxury-Rehab-Facilities-12Step-Program

At Moffitt Wellness Retreat, we pride ourselves on our dedicated and luxury rehab facilities, where we offer guidance within the 12-step program for both alcohol and drug addiction recovery.  Our rehab program promotes the whole healing of a person’s life and therefore we actively connect and integrate patients into the relationships we have carefully cultivated within the AA community to aid in your recovery through the attendance of daily 12-Step program meetings.  We can’t help but to stay excited about the extraordinary positive results our clients attain utilizing the 12-Step program, like Alcoholics Anonymous, in helping them to overcome addiction and lead not only less destructive, but also full contributing lives.  As such, our main approach is to guide you through the 12-Step program with your own personal 12-Step coach.

Non 12-Step Program

Counseling to develop a unique program.

Counseling to develop a unique program.

While the 12-Step program works very well for most people, some patients prefer the non 12-step approach to recovery.  Since we are fully aware that each person has their own unique reasons for using drugs and/or alcohol, we are also cognizant that everyone’s recovery process is unique. Therefore, at Moffitt Wellness Retreat, we are not opposed to developing a non 12-step program specifically for you. Over the years we have learned that there isn't a one size fits all approach. Our non 12-step programs aren’t anti 12-step, it rather recognize the limitations that treating addiction by itself can impose.  Addiction by itself is a complicated condition, one that has its roots in other driving forces.  While the chemical components of addictive substances are quite potent, it is also important to figure out what drives you to these self-destructive tendencies in the first place.

After completing our integrative approach addiction treatment program, within our luxury rehab facilities, many patients choose to continue their recovery in a 12-step program like Alcoholics Anonymous.  However, others will be more comfortable with alternative programs such as Smart Recovery, Women in Recovery, and Secular Organizations for Sobriety.  The continued support that all of these groups provide can be the difference between sobriety and relapse for patients who complete rehab within our luxury rehab facilities.  Whatever it takes to maintain your sobriety is what you should do.  It is a personal choice.

Whether you decide to go through the 12-Step Program or a Non 12-Step approach, within our luxury rehab facilities we provide:

Support group options, like those listed above.  These groups will connect you with people in similar situations so that you can help and support each other in staying sober or free from drug abuse.

Therapists and counselors whom are visited on a regular basis to help you continue to work through the underlying causes of your addiction.

If needed, local sober living facility placement.  This type of after care can provide a structured environment as you transition from life in rehab to life in the outside world.

Luxury Rehab Facilities – Moffitt Wellness Retreat’s Holistic Approach

Addiction is seldom, if ever, a single issue.  Whether your drug of choice is cocaine, methamphetamine, opiates, alcohol, or some other substance, the driving force behind your addiction is not the drug itself.  The truth is there are many facets of addiction, including physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.  That is why it is important to us that we use a more holistic approach to treat the whole person, not just the drug addiction.  Whether it is through the foundation of the 12-Steps program or not, our multifaceted approach includes all of the following treatments:

  1. Medical Detox to address the physical withdrawals associated with addiction.
  2. Nutritional planning and physical fitness therapy to alleviate physical symptoms.
  3. Individualized programs tailored to each person’s needs.
  4. Therapies that incorporate creativity and outdoor activities.
  5. Life and career skills planning.
  6. Spirituality and Yoga therapy.

Be sure to know that you can reach out to us, no matter what type of addiction you face.  If we don't have the exact experience in the specific addiction you are facing, we will make sure that we work directly with someone who does.  We will bring that person in to your addiction analysis and develop your addiction treatment plan according to the specialist’s analysis and recommendations.

What is the 12-Steps Program?

12-Step-Program

The 12-Step program will help you identify your underlying issues as you work through the program.  For the best recovery results, complete abstinence from drugs and alcohol is necessary after our treatment.  We will help connect you with support groups to avoid relapse, and you will find great strength and encouragement from other members.  The program is very effective to help you learn how to manage stress as you begin your life of sobriety.

Below are the original steps of the 12-Step program as published by Alcoholics Anonymous:

AA Step 1: We admitted we were powerless over alcohol and that our lives had become unmanageable.

AA Step 2: Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

AA Step 3: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

AA Step 4: Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

AA Step 5: Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

AA Step 6: Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

AA Step 7: Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

AA Step 8: Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.

AA Step 9: Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

AA Step 10: Continued to take personal inventory, and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.

AA Step 11: Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

AA Step 12: Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
